About AircrewPrints

Hi, I’m Malcolm Gray the originator of all the images displayed on my AircrewPrints site. I hope you like my work which I have only been painting over the last few years following retirement and a busy career in industry. (From 2011 in full time employment again as Technology Technician in a N. London Comprehensive School, doing some teaching in art and architecture) My interest in aviation has led me to gain a pilots licence and until fairly recently I was flying a Shadow microlight at every available weekend. My interest in military aviation stems from some 20 plus years as a RAFVR(T) officer helping to run, and later commanding a London ATC Squadron. I originally studied art and product design at the now defunct Hornsey College of Art in North London and then with the Open University to gain a BA Hons . I recently (2010) joined, thanks to my son, as a Friend, The Guild of Aviation Artists and despite being on the lowest rung hope to learn a lot from being in the company of this august group of fantastic artists. Now with a little more spare time I am working to produce the best aviation and transport prints available in the UK. All my prints are made to a standard A3 format with text and original illustrations displayed in a crisp and modern style. All prints include a brief, informative text on the particular aircraft or vehicle shown. They are printed on either the finest 308gsm art paper, or as a cheaper option on 60gsm smooth card. Greeting cards are A6 size, printed on satin card and left blank inside for your own message. I also sell original artwork, mostly unframed, simply because of the risk of damage and you may not like the frames I use ! Pictures are mostly in gouache or watercolour, and I am happy to accept bespoke commissions. I trust you will find the site of interest, please contact us if you have any queries or questions regarding our products and services. I hope you enjoy the growing number of paintings I have to offer. I am always happy to hear from anyone who spots an error in the work (honest) or simply wants to talk aircraft ! More images are always being uploaded so keep visiting the site or our Facebook page. Finally a word of thanks to my son who built the website and without whose late nights none of this would be possible !
